Yogi

Hi, my name is Yogi and I am sweet and beautiful.

I’m 4 ½ years old and I’m cute as a button, especially when I’m in a playful mood. I don’t want to have to move around anymore and am looking for my forever home.

I live alone with my foster mum and I seem to like this as other dogs are very scary, especially when they bark at me or move around a lot, but I just ignore them. I’ve never been aggressive towards them and have even had playdates with a dog twice my size but I’m an independent girl so even though my foster mum would love to see me interact, I don’t play with other dogs yet.

I just adore car rides and will go anywhere with you, if you’ll let me. I’ve learnt to jump in and out of my foster mum’s 4wd all by myself and I like to put my nose out the window to smell the fresh air and look at what’s going on in the world. If it’s a long ride, I’ll just lay down in the back and look to see if anything has changed when we get to the stop lights. Did I mention I love car rides! I really, really do.

I also love going for walks and I am really good at walking. I especially love running free off my lead when mum takes me to her private cattle property. I bounce through the grass, play chasy and am learning to fetch… although I don’t quite understand that I have to bring the stick back yet, but I love to throw it up in the air. There’s a dam at the property and I’ll always have a play in the water to cool down. On hot days, my foster mum fills up the shell pool in the back yard and I love to play in it. I’ll never say no to a beach walk either and love walking in the water or feeling the sand between my paws. My foster mum bought me a squeaky plush toy to play with and I love throwing it in the air and catching it. She tells me I am super cute when I am playing. Sometimes I get distracted and leave it in the garden and my foster mum has to find it for me again and I’m so happy when she does. If you have a large yard, that would make me so happy as I really do love to run and play and I have a thing for manicuring grass so if there is grass around or you can give me plenty of access to it, I’d be very thankful.

Did you know that tummy rubs are one of my favourite things. I’ll even lay on my back to make it easier for you. In fact, I love them just as much as a bottom rub. I’m very obedient for a greyhound, I don’t have any naughty qualities, I’ve never had any toileting accidents inside, I don’t steal your socks, rip up anything or dig in the garden. I’m such a good girl. I recall when my foster mum calls me back or tells me I can’t go outside the gate but I know that I am not allowed so I’m good at just standing at the gate and watching the passers by.

I’m not the type of girl to look at you while you eat, beg for food or hang around in the kitchen and I just eat when I’m hungry. I particularly like it when you make my food a bit sloppy so I can lick it to start with to get the taste. I do love titbits when I feel like them and am I’m getting better at chewing them but I still can’t get the hang of those really big bones just yet so my foster mum spoils me and gives me smaller lamb bones to teach me.

Whoever decides to love me and give me a forever home, you will not be disappointed and I promise you will fall in love with me. My foster mum thinks I’m one of a kind. I just want stability, routine and to be loved… forever.
