Danny

Hello! My name is Danny & I am looking for a family that has lots of love to give to an old man in his twilight years. I will be 11 in a few months I need to find a loving home to retire to. I am a very affectionate, sweet, gentle & polite fellow who enjoys my own company outside all day but prefers to be inside with my humans when they are home. I am completely house trained & have never caused any damage inside, but if I'm left alone outside for long periods, I sometimes dig for buried treasure.
Mostly I just laze around on my bed, but I prefer the couch if I can get away with it. I enjoy the occasional run around the yard & love a game of chase or a relaxing walk, but I'm not really into toys (they're for kids). I love to play with other dogs (even those crafty little ones who sometimes manage to creep into my yard) & I'm only unfriendly to other dogs if they are snippy first. I dont live with any other pets & dont much like cats, but I do like to chase them when they sneak onto my side of the border & they had better be quick! Sometimes I can be a bit ditzy but I make up for that with my big, loving heart. I have my own collar, lead, GAP collar, 2 winter jackets plus a waterproof coat & also my bed (mattress) which I can bring with me to my new home.

Nico

This stunning girl is not quite 2, and she is a perfect companion for any home, especially if you are a homebody as she doesn't like being alone without you! She gets along great with other dogs, humans, and is super gentle with the little ones. She is very affectionate and loving. Just rub her ears and she's yours for life! She is good with our cat, and is scared when he swipes at her, so a cat with some gumption or who isn't afraid of dogs, would be ferfect for her forever home. She loves anything that is left around, so if you have kids who you want to teach to tidy up, Nico is your perfect solution! So have plenty of inside toys for her, and she comes with her favourite bunny. Nico is truly a special girl, she will definitely be an incredible addition to your family. You will be extremely lucky to have her!

Ashlee

My name is Ashlee and I am a 5 year old sweet natured light brindle girl. I just love affection, am house trained and don't hang around the kitchen, unless you are getting my food ready, then I wait patiently. When my humans get home from their day time responsibilities, I get all excited and show them how much I missed them. Sometimes I even run in tiny little circles on the big bed with the Italian Greyhound I live with (she's teaching me some silly things that dog). I don't sleep on the bed unless invited for a cuddle, then it's only for a while and I go off to my own bed. I love a walk and am nice and gentle around kids but I would probably have to re-arrange their fluffy toys, without destroying them of course. I can't be trusted near cats because I really have a strong reaction when I see one and want to chase them. Apparently that is wrong. Anyway, I would really like to get myself a forever home soon, please call Angela to find out how to meet me.

Mouse

I'm a 5 year old black girl who raced as 'Magical Mouse'. Since retiring, I now enjoy hanging out with humans around the house and I love receiving attention - I'm great at leaning on their legs! I think i'm a generally well-behaved girl although I do enjoy stealing the occasional sock or two. I also love going for walks, but I'll admit i can be a bit of a 'puller'! Since I moved into my foster home I've become fast friends with my new housemate Ruth (also a greyhound). We already share the 'dog couch' together and love playing chasey around the backyard.

Chuck

*Adoption Pending*

Chucky is a brindle male, about 5years old. He walks well on his lead, and is happy with small dogs. Chucky is house trained, does not steal things or destroys toys. He loves company and is very good with children. Behaves well in car.

Norm

(Norm: black on right, Amy is Brindle on Left)

Hi our names are Norm & Amy, we are very friendly & affectionate dogs. We just love getting pats & cuddles. We are very well mannered especially when it comes to eating, we never try & take any body elses food.We dont really like cats though. We are living with our fosterers at the moment, they have 3 young kids who we just love, the 3 yr old can pull us around all day & we dont mind at all. We love going for walks, we get a bit excited at first then we settle down once we're on the move. We like to sleep inside because its so warm, most of the day we just lie around & sleep. We had a party at our house on the weekend with 20 people inside & we were so well behaved, again we just slept practically the whole time, except when we felt like a pat. My fosterers think that we are the most placid, friendly well mannered dogs that they have ever met! We hope we can find someone that will love us as much as our fosterers do.

Jimmy

Jimmy is my name, and raced as Wild Jim Mclaren. I have lived with two foster parents, and am really enjoying my new lazy way of life. I love using my foster parents as leaning posts and they love stroking my head and ears. My foster parents have two teenage children who like playing loud music which I don’t mind too much. I try to share my affections around everyone in the home, and I am rewarded with plenty of cuddles and pats.
I never worry my parents for food, and I am polite when I need to answer the call of nature. I like going out for rides in the car, and enjoy going to new places. I like meeting other dogs, though little ones tend to try bossing me, which I find somewhat irksome. I let them know when I have had enough. I much prefer humans to be with, even little ones. I am extra gentle, even when I am playing rough and tumbles.
My foster parents have introduced me to their new Siamese cat called Siz-Ling. I get very excited because Siz-Ling reminds of the lures I raced after. I am not allowed to chase Siz-Ling and we are kept apart most of the time. I think with time Siz might get to like me, and I might get to like him too.

Jade

Raced as Fair Display - 2 yr old black female.

Hi, My name is Jade. I am a very sweet black girl with a white chest and white toes.

I am well behaved, love to play and really like to eat! I walk well on a lead and am enjoying living in a home. I get along well with small dogs, I don't chase the cat and I love people.

Ebony

Hello my name is Ebony ...Ebby for short..and as you can see im very beautiful. I raced as Victa Ebony but it's now time to retire my little legs. I've been told all about this thing called a 4ever home, that will be my family forever. I hope my 4ever family loves hugs and kisses cuz i really like to give them. I love my human companions and follow them almost everywhere. my foster brothers Hulk and Snowy have been teaching me how to be a GAP hound. I think im doing a pretty good job of it so far! Mr. Wiggles, who is a ferret, has taught me that its not nice to stick your nose into his home without permission. He also taught me that ferrets have sharp teeth!!

I really love the little humans, i think they are called “kids”, they are a good food source and like to play, which i do too. I seem to get very excited with little “kids” so Iwould go well with the little tikes that are 5 and over. My tail is a bit whippy and may hit the tiny kids cuz i just cant seem to keep it still! I just love to follow you around and be near you. I also like to sleep on my comfy bed all day doing nothing. I dont mind sleeping on my outside bed during the day in the warm sun, but need to be inside at night or when its rainy and cold, to stay cozy and warm. I love chew hides and things like that. They are the best!

If you think you would like to have a loveable little girl like me. Let GAP know you are interested and i will be waiting patiently!

Brodie

Raced as- Star Drifter – 3 yr old white and black male – awaiting foster bio

Jed

Raced as- West On Brett – 5 yr old. Black male – Hello everyone! Aren`t I just a good looker. I was a fantastic sprinter too, winning my owner lots of money. This retirement lark is just great. I am with my foster mum and have a lovely greyhound girl friend. We get to run around the big yard all day and sleep in the sunshine,we have lovely warm coats that some kind lady made for us and we say hello to all the people with their dogs passing at the bottom of the yard. At teatime we get a lovely tea with yummy chicken necks and some crunchy stuff called Advance it`s just great. Then the best thing of all is that we get to go in the house and lounge in front of the lovely warm fire. Before we go to bed we have to go out in the cold again to wee,it took me a little while to work out why I had to keep going out in the cold, when I had just got all cosy and warm, in fact my foster Mum had to tip my bed up to make me move but I have got the hang of it now. We go for walks later but I must admit I am not fantastic on the lead yet but my foster mum says I am improving and I am very intelligent, I worked out how to open that thing called a door if the catch wasn`t on and I put my paws on the kitchen window sill when I hear our dishes and by the time our tea arrives at the back door ,I am there waiting,I still get very excited at tea time but my manners are improving.
I love hugs and kisses and very quiet. I don't mind being left out side whilst my foster people are out at the footie or shopping,as they usually bring me something nice home.
I do like collecting things though,I get into trouble when my foster mum can`t find her slippers and one day I decided to have a look in her handbag, only a look though,I wasn`t naughty.

Jock

*Adoption Pending*

Raced as- Still Around- 5 ½ yr old Blue male.

Jock is a big loveable blue boy. He is a great house dog and has been sleeping inside without any problems, he enjoys lots of love and cuddles, has moments of mad play and gets on well with children but little ones need to be careful because he is a big strong dog. He loves to go for a walk and gets very excited when the lead comes out and is still learning to walk without pulling but is making good progress . Jock is easy to feed has good food manners and will wait until told FREE before starting to eat his meal, when we are eating our meals he just lays in his bed. Jock would best suit someone who would be around for most of the day, he prefers company and would not do well if left alone all day. He also enjoys the company of another dog and has been getting on well with our own pet greyhound. Jock is definately not cat safe and if he had a companion dog it would need to be of similar size.

Emma

Raced as – Psycho Sister – 2yr old Black female.

Emma is a sweet affectionate petite little girl that has settled into retirement well. She currently lives with a cat, a staffy & four children. She loves to play with the other dog and race around like a "psycho sister", she gets very excited when you get home and when you begin walks but settles down quickly. She is very obedient and has quickly learnt to follow simple commands (no, bed, outside ect). She is great with the kids but our two year old makes her nervous (known to be an ear & tail puller), to her credit she always just moves away from him and will come to me if she wants to be "protected" so perhaps kids a bit older would be better than toddlers. Emma likes collecting fluffy toys and has been know to pull a bit of stuffing here an there but doesn't destroy things. Most of all Emma loves cuddles... lots of them!

Abby

Raced as Dakota Shandy – 4.5 yr old red fawn female.

Hello my name is adorable Abby!
I'm not too sure what adorable means but it always seems to be accompanying my name and i like it.
I haven't as of yet recieved my green collar, but my foster mum and dad say that i will get that very soon. No troubles!. I do have a nice red that suits me and is comfy, but they say I am pretty perfect the way I am... I haven't thought about chasing furry things in weeks and weeks.

I am cool with the indoor cat here, cool with other skinny dog (currently hanging with Harry, a burmese cat and Soda the whippet), very cool walking beside any walking buddy, and a fantastic indoor/outdoor accessory for any cool family.

I heard my foster mum and dad discuss whether I would be better as an only dog or part of a cluster - i don't think they have decided yet but I will warn you I am pretty competitive when it comes to playing ball or fetching stuff along side another fur kid.

I do, however, prefer one on one play time with my human buddies. Thats the best! If you think you may be interested in me, give Angela a call at GAPSA and let her know! Cant wait to meet you!

Luv, hugz, and kisses,Abby
