Today I had a phone call from John and Rita a couple I have become very good friends with since they adopted Redmond. They are absolutely devastated as they lost Redmond on Tuesday the 12th of Jan. They rushed him to the emergency vet when they realised he was ill. He was placed on a drip but he wasn't able to hang on as he started to bleed internally. Apparently it was a snake bite and red belly blacks cause this reaction. You will be greatly missed beautiful Redmond and your mum and dad will need lots of hugs and love to get them through losing you. I promised them I will visit again on Monday and I will remind them what a wonderful life they gave you and how much you loved them...goodbye sweet boy I am going to look at your doggy blog now and shed my own tears...

Oh no... this is so terrible. He will be missed. My deepest sympathies goes to Rita and her family, I know they loved him so much.

So sorry to hear about Redmond. My thoughts are with you, Rita & John & family.
Thankyou for posting the letter and photos of Redmond on the forum - a lovely reminder of a gorgeous dog.
