Heidi - what a truely amazing dog. She wormed her way deep into our heart from the moment we adopted her. I love her athletic body and I am always proud to say that she used to race as I think this would have taken a lot of courage on her part. I just adore the way that she frequently comes up for a pat. She has the most gorgeous, small velvety ears that remind me of rose petals. We even love the few moments of deep sleep aggression that she has had surprising herself as much as my husband. I always smile when she lies on her back with her feet up in the air or sometimes just one front leg as if she has a question to ask.
Alfie - a whippet who thinks he's a grey so I thought he could be included. He reminds me of a praymantis when he wanders around the house. He makes us laugh with his facial expressions. If things aren't going exactly his way he gives a classic look of disgust and contempment. When he has a big drink of water he sticks his nose in the water and blows bubbles. He is a great guard dog. He is an excellent hot water bottle when he is not poking me with his stick legs. He sets his soft toys up so he can use them as pillows. He is a real Mummy's boy.
Heidi and Alfie make such a wonderful team and give us many hours of enjoyment with the way they play (and play fight quite rough) together. They often stretch in the same way and at the same time. I have never known dogs before that I want to pat so much as their coats are so smooth and soft. I love to kiss them on the forehead and they both smell nice, not at all doggy. I don't mind at all that I can't move around the house without them following me even when I go to the toilet!
