KEN'S BLOG ENTRY
17 April 2008.
Hi, I must be the most spoilt retired greyhound for miles. I just love
my new home away from the track. If I had of known that retirement was this
good I would of stopped chasing those lures along time ago. I have been
living in my new home since November and just seemed to fit in so well that
I am now the third child in the family. My highlights of my forever home
is my beanbag bed complete with my own blanket and pillow. Even though I
love my bed I can't help but sneak in to mums beanbag when everyone else
have gone to bed. Mum used to make me get out in the mornings, but now she
just covers me with a blanket and lets me sleep.
My next best thing is walk time. Wow do I get excited, I bounce around all
silly stepping on everyones toes. Mum makes me stop and gets me to drop
before she puts my lead on. Boy do I be silly sometimes only half dropping,
hoping she will still put my lead on. No i have to drop all the way. But
hay I don't mind we get to go for our walk eventually when i have settled.
The car rides are devine, I have a sixth sense, and know when mum is getting
ready to go in the car. I bug her that much now that i get to go in the
car to pick the kids up from school and I even get to go to soccer. Wow
do I get some attention there.
I love to eat, and the foods not bad either. You soon learn that when the
kids are eating something to just go on over and start paying them attention,
they will soon feed you tidbits and sometimes get something yummy for me
to eat, like a banana, yum they are the best.
I get to do so many cool things like meeting all those dogs at doggy school,
gee some of them are crazy jumping around and barking at everyone, me I'm
a little overwhelmed by it all and stay real close to mum.
I gpt to go to the beach when it was hot, and though at first I didn't think
much of the water, I soon gor used to it. Boy it was cold getting out though
my teeth started to chatter which made everyone laugh at me..
Oh i do love my new family, and hope that all you retired greyhounds find
home as greyt as mime real soon. My paws are crossed for you.
