TYGA'S BLOG ENTRY - MY NEW HOME!

13 October 2007.

I First met my new "For Ever" family while I was still in foster care. It was an interesting time unusual smells and a really big man came up and gave me a pat on the head (I think he will be my new dad) he sat down then a lovely lady came up and gave me a pat then a hug and smiled. Mum!

Both Mum and Dad sat on the couch and as I do (or did) promptly jumped up and joined them. Another man entered the room and with him he had a miniature person with fiery red hair. Boy has he got some energy! I must admit at the time I wasn't to sure of him and kept my distance.

It was just after New Years Eve when I went for a ride with foster mum, it was only a short drive to Gawler when we stopped at a house with a big front garden and big gates, so far so good. The people I had met at foster mums were there smiling and patting me as I went about my way sniffing and scoping the area.

The big man (dad) went inside and came back out with another animal Roxby aka dog doesn't matter what we call him as he cant hear and is half blind but as a 16 year old red healer he is doing alright, we spent some time smelling each other he seems ok but can be a bit grumpy.

Dad walked back inside and came out with another animal Boags an Italian x whippet we did the smell thing again then he ran. Wow he is fast so of coarse I chased mum and dad looked a bit worried but when he stopped so did I, then he chased me. Both mum and dad were smiling and the red head was squealing with joy. All in all a good day.

The next few weeks were spent adjusting and learning. (I think mum and dad had more to learn than me). Still the little red head who is Cooper and 2 years old still worries me. He is so flaming noisy and active.

I don't know about you but after a couple of laps of the back yard its time for kip.

Fast Forward to now my "for ever" home is great. I sleep on a been bag inside with Boags cuddling me (or when they aren't watching will sneak up on the couch or even better on Coopers bed!). Roxby (dog) has his own sheep skin rug as does Blue, another Gap Greyhound that mom and dad brought into home.

Blue will send his own blog in soon so I wont go on about him, but we have fun, we go on walks and talk to people, play chasey, pretend to be guard dogs patrolling the front yard and digging the odd hole. Dad doesn't like that so he made us another dig pit out back. Mum always boasts that how beautiful I am and to prove it I just won Best Greyhound at the Whippet & Greyhound fun day! I already new this though.

Cooper and me are great friends but some times my happy tail is not to happy for him I think it hurts when I whip him but mum and dad have worked this out they pick him up when I come inside excited. We will lay together play together and he walks me around the yard by my collar he loves me and I love him and the rest of my family and home.

PS Mum works at a butcher, I have a great Life!

Love and thank you GAP
