Watch out for GAP on TV!

GAP SA recently wrapped up filming a segment for SA's newest lifestyle program 'Outdoors Indoors'.

We were thrilled to have Adelaide vet Dr. Derek McNair come in and meet with the GAP SA team to talk all things greyhound so stay tuned to Sundays at 4:40pm on Channel 9  in the upcoming weeks to see the segment. We will put a notice on Facebook when we know for sure when it will be aired.
Thanks to all staff and volunteers who helped with filming the segment.

Take Your Dog To Work Day

Speaking of TV appearances - did you catch GAP's appearance on Ten Eyewitness News last week?
We were lucky enough to get invited to take our greyhounds along to the Ten studios to help promote Take Your Dog To Work Day last Friday. If you didn't catch it you see the video on their Facebook page by clicking here.

GAP SA and GRSA staff also got into the spirit of Take Your Dog To Work Day last Friday with some extra canine companions making the trek in to the offices! All the dogs behaved very well and enjoyed a good snooze when they got home after all the excitement!

Adoption Day coming up in July!

We are happy to announce the next Adoption Day will be on Saturday 28th July from 1-3pm here at Angle Park.

Keep an eye on website and our Facebook page for further information.

Do you have a small dog?

This is Jerry, who belongs to James in our Marketing Department who has signed up to be one of our team of small dogs to help with the socialisation and Green Collar assessing of our greyhounds!
Jerry is quite comfy sleeping under the desk all day until he gets the call up and now watches James leave for work in the mornings through the window wishing he could come too!

Do you or someone you know have a small dog that could benefit from some socialisation and company during the day?
We are looking for small dogs just like Jerry to help with our green collar and first point assessments.
Your dog will be well looked after with plenty of pats and treats throughout the day. They will assist with  green collar assessments for dogs that have been living with foster carers or for greyhounds entering the program.
During assessments, greyhounds will be muzzled, on a leash and handled by an experienced assessor and handlers.  All dogs will be walked around together in a secure testing area for approximately 5-10 mins to assess the greyhound’s reaction to the small dog.  If the greyhound is reacting well we will allow them to approach and sniff the small dog.
We are looking for dogs that are generally social and happy meeting other dogs and ones that walk well on a lead.  Sessions are rostered at least a month in advance and are generally around two to four hours in length.
If this sounds like something you or someone you know would be able to help out with on either a regular or ad hoc basis, without any obligation, we would love to hear from you.
Please contact Helen at GAP SA on 8243 7124 for further details.
