Friendly Foxy... | Black | 31kg |
Foxy, who raced under the name ‘Alaesha’s Pride’ only had 8 race starts as she preferred to get pats from her trainer than race. She is a sweet girl who loves to snuggle and is looking for a loving foster home.
Specific requirements:
- Foxy would like to live with a medium to large male doggo companion.
- She is fine to stay at home for part time hours.
- Foxy can live in a household with children over the age of 12 years.
- She is not suitable to live with cats, poultry, or pocket pets.
What we have noticed:
- Foxy is a super sweet girl who loves to snuggle with her humans.
- She loves pats and cuddles and is generous with giving out kisses.
- Foxy wasn’t interested in racing as she preferred to receive pats from her trainer.
- She is a real foodie and would love to try all different forms of enrichment.
Experience in The Home:
- Foxy is an affectionate, patient and sweet girl — the only thing she loves more than napping is food. She has learnt to sit and wait for her meals, as well as shake hands/paw. She currently lives with an older border collie and they can often be found snuggled up near each other during the colder weather.
- She is fully toilet trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. Foxy does have a bit of a stubborn streak, so ongoing reinforcement and consistency with training is important. She is very food motivated which makes training easier, although it also means she likes to investigate any food she can find.
- Foxy loves curling up on her bed and she can often be found “roaching” against the wall or upside down on the couch enjoying herself.
- She is not overly interested in toys, but when she gets a burst of energy she will happily run around and play fetch for a little while. Foxy absolutely loves attention from people and enjoys being included in day-to-day life. She gets excited when people arrive at the house, something she has definitely learnt from our border collie, but after saying hello she will usually go and put herself to bed, unless food is involved.
- Foxy loves her walks and especially loves sniffing and grazing on grass along the way. She can pull a little at the beginning of walks when she is excited. Foxy is not much of a water dog and prefers to stay dry whenever possible.
- Due to being very food motivated, she will sometimes try to eat food left on the ground, so her adopter will need to stay aware while walking her. She responds well to a gentle tug on the lead and the command “leave it”.
- Foxy is a calm, gentle girl who enjoys a quiet home, comfy places to sleep and plenty of affection.
