Marvellous Margot ... | Brindle | 26kg

Marvellous Margot, who never raced, is a darling girl available for foster or Foster to Adopt.

Specific requirements:

  • Margot would prefer to live in a home as an only dog
  • She is fine to be at home for minimal hours
  • Margot can live with children over the age of 8
  • She is suitable to live with caged birds

What we have noticed:

  • Margot is super smart Gal and loves to train with her people
  • She knows how to down, sit, on your bed, recall and is in the process of trying to learn to roll over.
  •  Loves to have something to keep her mind occupied and would enjoy enrichment toys to continue to stimulate her brain.
  • Margot has had some crate training and would benefit from continuing on with this.
  • She would love to go to obedience school or training with her new family to continue utilising the smart brains she has!
  • She is in our training program at the moment and is loving the continued education to help keep her occupied.
  • She gets access to some home training throughout the day and has been excelling at it, we are now focusing on her not being underfoot at all times !

A note from Margot's previous foster carer:

"Margot is a very sweet little girl. She needs to know about everything, being new to a home environment and also still being a baby. She is SUPER affectionate and loves people!

Margot is extremely food oriented. When she goes into a home as an only dog, this will be an easy way to train/reward her. She will chase and bring back a ball - she likes to chew them up. This is the only thing she has really chewed, though she is a real collector and has taken a number of items including dishes out of the sink! She has never damaged or broken anything.

She has discovered the comfort of the bed and lounge but does not sleep on the bed and will get off the lounge with the verbal commands "off and down." Margot comes when called and recognises her name. She currently lives with indoor and outdoor birds and has been curious, but again responds when told no. She happily uses the doggy door. Toileting may take a couple of days in a new environment as she seems more comfortable indoors than in a big strange yard, but once she is settled and confident in her new home, there are no more accidents.

She loves toys! Margot will happily just run about the house with a toy in her mouth and just as happily lets you take it from her to throw it for her to chase.

Margot has shown zero aggression or resource/bed guarding to her foster mum. She has no sleep startle and will get up in the night to go to the toilet when/if you do. She is learning not to jump up when you arrive home - she is VERY excited when you get home, but has learned to settle quickly - she loves to please her person.

Margot is very smart, and would do well with a family who has time to continue her training and walks."
