Brutus may visually reflect his racing name of “Brute Strength” but he is actually a very sweet and loving boy who just needs some more real world experience.

Specific requirements:

• Brutus would be best suited to live with another dog for confidence.
• He can be home for fulltime hours with dog company.
• Brutus is suitable for a home with quiet children 12 years or older.
• He is not suitable to live with cats, poultry or pocket pets.

Brutus wasn’t always the affectionate, shadow-like boy he is today. When he first arrived in foster care, the world felt overwhelming and frightening. Noises, people, everyday life — it was all too much.

With the support of his vet, medication, and months of gentle patience, Brutus has discovered that the world can be safe. And now, his beautiful personality shines.

He follows his foster parents from room to room. He squeaks with pure joy when he hears the car pull into the driveway. He sleeps peacefully through the night and is perfectly toilet trained, even with full-time working foster parents! On warm days, he finds pure happiness splashing in a paddling pool.

He has formed a gorgeous bond with his foster greyhound sister (Penny), learning confidence by quietly following her lead. A calm, steady canine companion would help him continue to flourish.

Brutus is a thoughtful, gentle boy who thrives with kindness and reassurance. With continued encouragement and love, he will keep growing into the confident dog he is so clearly becoming.
