Meet Roy

Roy is a friendly greyhound who likes being around people. Roy is social, curious and engaging, often checking in with his handler and seeking out interaction. In fact, he values human attention more than food and is happiest when spending time with his people. He has a gentle nature, enjoys close contact and isn't shy about resting his head in your lap when given the opportunity.

Around other dogs, Roy displays appropriate social skills and enjoys interacting with canine friends. He is playful, polite and demonstrates positive dog-to-dog communication.

Roy is still building confidence in new environments and can initially be a little hesitant when faced with unfamiliar situations. However, he is thoughtful rather than reactive and is willing to investigate and learn when given the time and support to do so.

As Roy has spent his life in kennel and yard environments, he has not yet experienced living inside a home. His new family will need to guide him through learning everyday pet dog skills, including toilet training, household routines, spending time alone and becoming familiar with common household items and enrichment activities.

Roy will thrive with adopters who can provide patience, consistency and a gentle introduction to the world beyond the kennel. In return, they will gain a sweet-natured, people-focused greyhound who enjoys companionship and has all the foundations to become a wonderful family member.
